Mike Reeder, a Master Mariner and RYA Instructor, has successfully trained more than 400 Owners, Captains, Mates and Crew for their YACHTMASTERS certificates. His dedicated team of instructors arranges courses for the complete beginner through to YACHTMASTER (OCEAN) and the commercial endorsements. The instruction is both practical and/or theory, and the following are also arranged:-
OWN BOAT INSTUCTION
This is the most popular, and most sensible. If not possible, the school has MCA - coded motor cruisers available.
INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE (ICC)
This is a very popular course. We train for the Craft up to 24 meters in length. the certificate is required when visiting the coastal waterways of Europe. For the inland waters, the Code European des Voies de la Navigation Interieure (CEVNI) is also needed.
POWERBOAT (RIB) INSTRUCTION
For the level 1, level 2, Intermediate, and advanced certificates.
DIESEL ENGINE INSTRUCTION
A 1-day course.
VHF/SRC INSTRUCTION
On how to operate VHF fitted with Digital Selective Calling. A 1-day course which can be arranged in many different places, and /or in association with the Lymington Town Sailing Club.
CHARTER.
We have several motor cruisers available for charter including a 52' Fairline Targa, which we operate in association with Freedom Charters.

Pembrokeshire Cruising offers a wide range of sailing tuition from a unique location combining a large sheltered estuary, spectacular coastline and picturesque harbours all situated within the wild dramatic beauty of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Following the RYA syllabus, the courses are designed to give you confidence and competence in sailing and skippering a cruising yacht. Pembrokeshire Cruising has been teaching sailors of all levels of ability since 1994 and is one of the leading sailing schools in Wales
The courses are run by instructors who have an enthusiastic dedication to sailing combined with emphasis on having fun. They are also adept at cooking. What better after a hard day than to relax for an hour or so while your instructor prepares a delicious, freshly cooked meal, followed by a trip to one of Pembrokeshire's many hostelries to toast the end to a perfect day.

Our adventure cruises offer budding skippers the opportunity to complete longer passages, with the assistance of an instructor and also allow novices the experience of cruising to some of the most beautiful destinations in the UK. We now offer weekend adventures around Pembrokeshire - the perfect get away! Pembrokeshire offers an un-crowded spectacular coastline, together with a varied and testing tidal environment.
CHARTER
First class yachts, all maintained to the highest standard are offered for skippered and bareboat charter to sail the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park visit its spectacular Islands, or adventure further afield to the Scillies and Southern Ireland. Our fleet of Jeanneau yachts offer comfortable living with performance cruising. We also offer our 27ft Hunter Horizon, bilge keeler, for local exploration.
Plas Menai is the National Watersports Centre and enjoys a magnificent location on the banks of the Menai Strait, overlooking Anglesey in North Wales. The waters of the Strait are ideal for sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and powerboating with easy access to the open sea and coastal scenery.
Cruise the uncluttered waters around the North Wales and Anglesey Coastline, the Irish Sea, across to the Isle of Man, down the Llyn Peninsular or up to Scotland.

The centre also runs the RYA Dinghy Sailing syllabus from Learn to Sail through to Dinghy and Senior Instructor courses.

Long-term instructors training courses are also available providing a gateway into the watersports industry.
The staff at Plas Menai hold some of the highest technical and coaching awards available and include; RYA Dinghy Coach Assessors, RYA Racing Coaches, RYA Powerboat Trainers, RYA Windsurfing Trainers, RYA Yachtmaster Examiners, BC Level 5 Sea and Inland Coaches, Mountain Instructors with SPA and ML, White Water Rescue Providers and First Aid Trainers.
Our award-winning centre was designed with comfort in mind and retains a friendly, warm and inviting atmosphere. The centre can accommodate up to 67 people and the bedrooms are comfortable with single beds and duvets. Most rooms are twin-bedded, although we do have a few single rooms and some with three or four beds for families and groups. All rooms are en-suite, with fitted wardrobes, tea and coffee making facilities and a television.
